Pastors & Staff

Shawn Franssens

Lead Pastor

A Kansas City native, Pastor Shawn joined Country Club July 2024.

Along with his wife Catherine, he has two children, MacKenna and Gabe, and loves preaching, driving his Jeep, the color orange, walking with his German Shorthaired Pointer, and reading on the front porch.

He believes we are "better together" and finds some of the best times happen when we gather as friends around a table.

Shawn is a graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology, Dakota Wesleyan University, and the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

Lexi Miceli

Director of the Child Development Center

Lexi graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a B.S in Psychology and Child and Family Development, and has been working with children in ages infant-preschool since 2012. She has been with CCMCDC since 2018. She is passionate about the Reggio Emilia approach, the exploration of loose parts, and creating a classroom environment that acts as the third teacher. She enjoys spending her free time reading, or outdoors with her husband and daughter, Dominic and Sawyer. They are also welcoming a son soon, Carlo. She also has a big, lovable dog named Kugels. She looks forward to building relationships and community at CCMCDC, and bringing quality care to your families!

Rebecca Clair

Assistant Director of the Child Development Center

Rebecca Clair has more than 10 years of teaching experience, primarily working with infants and toddlers. She particularly enjoys the curiosity of toddlers as they explore the world around them! She holds an associate’s degree in Child Growth and Development from the Metropolitan Community College, where she graduated with honors. In recent years, she has been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education and loves letting children take the lead in their learning and dig deep into their interests with hands-on project learning. She has a seven year old son, Ethan, who currently attends a local arts based charter elementary school, and a one year old daughter, Bethany, who is currently in Toddler A here at CCMCDC! Rebecca grew up in Michigan but she and her husband Derek have called Kansas City home for the past twelve years. When she’s not teaching, you are likely to find Rebecca working in her garden, taking photos, drinking coffee, exploring nature with her kids, or reading (when she can find a quiet moment!).

Baylee Rock

Assistant Director of the Child Development Center

Hello! I’m Baylee. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Child and Family Development from the University of Central Missouri in 2018. I also hold a minor in Psychology and another in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. I have around 6 years of experience working with children ranging from 6 weeks to elementary ages and celebrated my second year here at CCMCDC in August! I have held multiple roles in childhood education; such as leading infant and toddler classrooms, teaching in a group style daycare, as a para educator working with children with sensory processing differences, intellectual and physical disabilities and as a Kindergarten prep teacher. I find much joy working with children and I feel like I have finally found my home here at CCMCDC! I have a high interest in the Reggio-Emilia Approach, child-lead learning, documentation, and designing functionable classroom environments to serve as the “third teacher”. Some of my favorite activities to do with my students are sensory experiences (all forms of messy play), science, and writing/literacy. It is unbelievably rewarding for me to witness a child master a new skill!
I have a daughter named Arvella and she enrolled in Pre-K here! I am also married to my husband, Tyler. My favorite hobbies include spending quality time with friends and family, cooking with my husband, baking and playing with my daughter.
