The Breath We Need

May 25, 2025    Shawn Franssens

There are things we can live without for a time—food, water, even connection. But we can’t survive long without breath. Physically, our lives depend on the simple act of breathing. Spiritually, the same is true. We need the breath of God—the Spirit—to live fully and faithfully.

In Ezekiel 37, the prophet is led into a valley full of dry bones—an image of lifelessness and despair. But through the power of God’s Spirit, those bones are restored and revived. This is not just a resurrection story for ancient Israel—it’s a vision for us too.

This week’s message invites us to ask: Are we living filled with the Spirit, or simply going through the motions? Are we just flesh and bone—or are we fully alive in Christ?
